The correct feeding amount for dogs is extremely important for their health and well-being. Here are some reasons why:
- Health status: An appropriate feeding amount helps prevent overweight or underweight, which in turn reduces the risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart problems, and joint problems.
- Energy requirements: Dogs require different amounts of energy depending on their size, age, activity level, and health status. A balanced diet ensures that they have enough energy for their daily lives.
- Nutrient supply: The right amount of food ensures that dogs receive all the necessary nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and proteins that they need for a healthy life.
- Behavioral problems: An incorrect feeding amount can lead to behavioral problems, such as excessive begging or aggression due to hunger or discomfort.
It is important to regularly check the feeding amount and adjust it if necessary, especially if the dog's living conditions change.
80% meat and 20% vegetables and/or fruit. To ensure an ideal feed mixture for your dog or cat, we recommend developing a feeding plan.
Properly thawing frozen products is very important when feeding raw food. If you follow these steps, bacteria stand no chance:
- Place meat in a bowl when thawing.
- Cut open the packaging and ensure that the bowl or container is permeable to oxygen.
- Never thaw frozen products in sealed packaging, as gases can form (anaerobic bacteria).
- Feed the thawed meat to your dog within 1-2 days. For cats, the meat should be fed within 1 day, as many cats will not eat older meat. Tip for cat owners: Portion the frozen product and thaw each meal individually in the refrigerator, as cats prefer freshly thawed food.
- Wash dishes thoroughly with soap after each use and wash your hands regularly.
High-quality, sustainable, and fairly produced products are very important to us. This is for the welfare of the animals and for an intact environment. Our BARF products are processed, packaged, and provided to our customers in the region. The meat for our products comes from various sources. This includes organic meat and meat from animal-friendly farming. Unfortunately, these cannot be labeled organic because there is no separate production line for organic products. However, we cannot rule out that meat from conventional animal husbandry may be included in our products.
Mainly, we receive meat from a kind of "overproduction" or pieces that are not used for the food market (e.g., scraps like carcasses, necks, muscle meat from older animals, offal, etc.). We therefore utilize meat that is not used in the conventional market.
The meat is veterinary inspected, and production takes place exclusively in Switzerland under the strictest hygiene regulations. Almost exclusively Swiss meat is used. For certain types of meat, such as ostrich, salmon, lamb, and horse, imported meat from controlled breeding may also be processed. The declaration of meat origin can be found in the product description (composition).
